ZAAR
ZAAR is driven by the all-encompassing nordic nature. She is inspired by it’s contrasts and how it doesn't compromise.
With her spherical, heartfelt and melancholic musical atmospheres ZAAR meets you in an autumn forest, the one she grew up next to. She cuts into this alluring nature with a distorted reality. Blends daydreaming with storytelling, creating a personal collage.
ZAAR writes and performs with what she has available at each moment in time. Her most recent set up is her voice and her home built pedalboard. She plays the bass with her feet on an electronic organ and invites various musicians to play alongside her on stage.
She released in October 2019 her debut EP ‘Lost My Sense Of Humour’ and is planning to release her second EP ‘It’s Always Nice To Be Wanted’ next year. Her latest release was the song ‘Her Instead’ in collaboration with the danish harpist and solo artist Selma Judith, and the split-album While We Wait that was released this year on the 25th of February in collaboration with the Icelandic artists Salóme Katrín and RAKEL.
ZAAR has performed in venues and festivals such as Rockwood Music Hall (US), Spot festival (DK), G!Festival (FO), Nuuk Nordic Festival (GL ) Iceland Airwaves (IS) and Roskilde Festival (DK).
