nadia tehran

Nadia Tehran is a multidisciplinary artist based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Born in 1990 in Sweden by Iranian parents, Tehran’s work examines concepts of migration, resistance and escape, investigating the emotionality that comes with a life in exile. Nadias practice is ever changing, but always grounded in research and critical theory. From using their own body in performance, to making metal sculptures, textiles and paintings, writing films, poetry and music, Tehran’s work is both explorative and expressionistic as it questions borders and normativity from a personal point of view. In 2019 Tehran released their critically acclaimed debut album “Dozakh: All Lovers Hell” which received a nomination for album of the year by the Nordic Music Prize.
